Food ingredients Asia2011 is the major regional event that features food technology and ingredients. It focuses on displaying ingredients innovation, research and development of raw material in the processed food industry, such as creating appealing appearance, taste, scent and colours, as well as enhancing nutrition to add value for instant food, drink, innovative processed food and frozen food. The entrepreneurs in the industry will review the latest innovations and ingredients of over 400 suppliers from more than 30 countries. Fi Asia Conference 2011 is organised by The Food Science and Technology Association of Thailand (FoSTAT), the conference will run alongside the exhibition to address in more details latest issues in Thailand’s Food ingredients industry.
Thai food products and food ingredients may as well fall from the previous estimate but since food is essential for any living organisms and human being included, my expectation would then be that the overall food business may fall but only a minute figure. The industry must work collectively to restore confidence and ensure that all consumers can buy safe food. This conference delivered the latest information on healthfulness of food ingredient as functional foods. As well, sessions intended for those wanting to learn more about the production, retail and processing aspects of the functional food value chain were held. Discussion on two day will talk about the potential health benefits of several food ingredients, and their innovative use in healthy texture systems for the food industry. Food science and technology from all agencies; public, academic and private sectors need to work together to assist this difficult economic period to create better products with a value to money to feed the world market and consequently to create more jobs and grow our economy.
